I Will Stand With You Between The Heavens & Earth

“I don’t know what to say.” That’s what a founder said to me this week at a founder meetup. I asked if he has a presence on social media and at the bare minimum LinkedIn.
“I have a profile, but I don’t post.” He told me that during Covid, being outgoing, sharing, and chatting with people all stopped. “I think I live in my head mostly.”
We don’t talk enough about the impact of the pandemic on our mental health. Some of us came out of Covid with unseen scars that continue to sidetrack our daily lives and how we show up.
Feeling anxious about networking, worrying about what people think, doubting who you are and what you’re building, or worrying about things out of your control can all make content creation feel impossible.

Small steps toward creating
I suggested a new narrative and approach: start with positive reinforcement, write two sentences about one useful cybersecurity tip, then create ten simple versions. Keep it simple.
Review your achievements, ask friends and family to remind you of your value, take a leap with a community like Toastmasters, and give yourself grace. The world is moving at the speed of light—practice, practice, practice.
Creating content often means defying the inner voice telling you not to do it. Mental wellness, spirituality, mindset, faith, and maybe a little luck all play a role in how we create and show up.
“What a liberation to realize that the voice in my head is not who I am.” — Eckhart Tolle
I am an expert on content creation, but I’m also having a human experience. I have failed and continue to fail at taking all or only one of these steps to keep creating. I love content creation. I hate content creation. I live in that duality.
I see and understand your struggle more than you will ever know. Is the content struggle real for you too?
