What Fools These Mortals Be

You are a God amongst mortals!
It’s one of the things I say to myself to keep creating content.
I gotta be my biggest fan!
Sometimes it’s easier said than done but there are plenty of days where that hating voice in my head has a front row seat.
It’s not creative enough
People have seen this before
I am not enough
This is boring
No one wants to read this
You know all the thoughts that run through your mind during the creative process. Is it just me?
Even as a long time content creator this still happens to me. I highly doubt it will ever stop.
These feelings of being inadequate and not creating something innovative and valuable will run miles in my mind.
So how do I keep creating when the pressure to create feels like a 30 pound weighted vest?
Well there are a few ways I manage my crazy creative mind.
There’s Only One You
Owning your voice and letting people see who you really are is the real blessing in content creation.
Your life, experience, and who you are matters more that you can ever imagine.
The great Eckhart Tolle said,
“On the level of being, you’re already complete. There’s nothing that you need to become. There’s nothing missing. That realization is the very fulfillment of your life in this moment. What is there to add to it ?
You Are Not For Everyone
Sometimes your content completely misses your community.
It can feel jarring and isolating. I’ve shed a few tears in the past tbh.
You hope to get the gift that is feedback but all you get in return is criticism and zero likes. The comments you do receive are mostly complaints or telling you “you are wrong.”
“ Don’t take anything personally because by taking things personally you set yourself up to suffer for nothing.”
It’s from o ne of my favorite books “ The Four Agreements” by Don Miguel Ruiz.
“Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream.”
You don’t have to let the noise in. There’s a plethora of successful stories about people who chose to keep building even when their friends, family, and know nothings ridiculed them ( the Wright brothers, Oprah, Nelson Mandela, Walt Disney).
You can simply chose to do you.
The More Things Change the More They Stay the same
Just because the information you’re sharing isn’t novel doesn’t mean it’s not valuable. Your voice, your flavor, is what makes your content memorable and clickable.
Just because someone has done it before or there’s a version of your content out there in the zeitgeist, so what do it any way!
We have a gadzillion streaming channels and over 115 million YouTube channels in the world. Content ain’t special but your audience is.
Don’t let the fear of creating something that someone has never seen or read before. keep you stuck.
Start With Yourself
