No One Wants to Be An Influencer

Fame= By Product of Content Creation Not the Goal I met with a small business owner who’s on the verge of building a personal brand and new venture on social media. I typically meet with potential clients for 30-45 minutes to assess where they are in their journey and how I can help.
The first thing the founder said was“I don’t want to be an influencer.”
And I totally get that. Most founders or investors would rather sit in 5pm traffic in Los Angeles on the 405 (iykyk) than to be thought of as an influencer.
Tbh being an “influencer” is so 2022 at this point lol.
I always calm my clients fear by sharing that creating content is not like having the platinum Amex that gives you access to the Waldorf, first class tickets to Singapore, or exclusive events.
I mean it could in a lot of ways depending on your content. However, as a founder fame is not the priority nor should it.
Your focus is getting more people to learn about you and your business, AND land more opportunities for your business to thrive. Which could mean bringing on contractors, employees, or even investors to help scale.
The Fear is Palpable
The hardest part about content creation is shifting your mindset. Your goal is never to not become an influencer. Your goal is to tell your story in a way that will resonate with your potential investors and collaborators, and most importantly your future clients.
I’m a founder who’s scared all the time. Creating content can feel like a roller coaster in the middle of the ocean. Absolutely terrifying!
The pressure to be great. The pressure to grow your business. The pressure to avoid failing or being seen as a failure. Whew, it’s a daily ride that never stops.
If you’re in that space right now you have to jump off the cliff. Start talking about what you’re building and why people should care.
What makes your business special and what makes you the expert in this field?
Your mind may have convinced you that creating content may lead to people thinking less of you, but it actually leads to people thinking more about you and your business.
You are creating to connect with humans who may share the same philosophy and are interested in your products and services. Which leads to an ROI.
Now, if you happen to become famous because your content is fiyah, it’s still a WIN. But in the meantime…
Start creating, your the survival of your business may depend on it. ( dramatic much)

MY FAVORITE AI FINDS
4/11 Higgsfield AI is a generative AI platform that creates images and videos. I used it to create a video for a presentation. It was seamless and didn’t give me any weird outputs with a direct prompt. I’m still playing with it to see how it creates video with me in it. However, for basic video creation that’s aligned with your work, I recommend giving it a try.
3/22 ChatHub app is an all in one web based platform that can run multiple AI chatbots at the same time. Let me know if you’ve used it. I think I’m in love.
3/14/26 One of the easiest ways to make professional presentations by AI is Chronicle Chronicle is an AI tool designed for teams making business critical presentations, without sacrificing flexibility and style. It’s super intuitive and the templates makes it a breeze to use.
